Rabbi Sarah Rensin (she/her) serves the spiritual care and wellness needs of Jews throughout the Greater Portland area who are outside a traditional synagogue setting.

  • life cycle events, including funerals, unveilings, and weddings
  • Holiday programming
    • Ensures that hospitals and other institutions have necessary ritual items, such as prayer books, matzah, and menorahs
  • Referrals for resources in the community

Rabbi Sarah has a wealth of experience, having been ordained in 2015 at the Academy for Jewish Religion California. Her background includes Fine Art and teaching as well as work as a Rabbi and Chaplain at Evergreen Hospice in Washington, where she played a pivotal role in providing spiritual care and support during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic. In late 2020, Rabbi Sarah moved to Oregon and continued working in Hospice and became an advocate for Medical Aid In Dying. Her vision aligns with our community’s commitment to meeting the spiritual care needs of the most vulnerable and providing education in non-traditional settings.

In her spare time, she likes to paint, go to the farmer’s market, watch movies and series, listen to books on tape, and obey the will of her furry overlords Miriam (a tuxedo cat) and Jojo (a Maine Coon cat).
