JFCS volunteers and interns bring talent, education, experience, and generosity to help make a difference in the lives of our clients. Interns recruited from Master of Social Work and other programs at local universities bolster our clinical and case management services and administrative capacity. Interns and volunteers help to administer our large volume of Emergency Aid services and provide companionship and homemaking services to isolated seniors. We are grateful to each and every volunteer that helps us make a difference in the lives of our clients!

Becoming a JFCS Volunteer

Step 1

Complete the volunteer application.

Review the online orientation. JFCS Volunteer Orientation – 2015

Step 3

A background check: volunteers working one-on-one with clients must pass a background check and sign a confidentiality form. Volunteers transporting clients must fill out and pass a background check, a driving record check, and sign a confidentiality form. An email message with a link to complete an online background check will be sent to you once your application has been reviewed.

Step 4

Meet with the Volunteer Coordinator to finalize placement.

Step 5

Some placements require additional meeting with a Program or Case Manager.
