Holocaust Survivor Services

We are able to provide services to Holocaust survivors primarily through generous grants from The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, Inc. (Claims Conference).

Services to Holocaust survivors include emergency financial assistance, social activities through Café Europa, subsidized homemaker assistance through VIP*Seniors, counseling and case management. We also provide assistance to those applying for reparation funds.

Emergency Assistance

Short-term help is available for low-income Holocaust survivors meeting income and other guidelines.  Support may include dental and medical care, rent, utilities, or other basic expenses beyond a client’s means.   To apply, survivors should contact JFCS at 503.226-7079 ext. 112.

Café Europa

Café Europa meets monthly and offers Holocaust survivors an opportunity to socialize. Activities include lectures on special topics of interest, workshops on senior related resources, films, trips to the beach or museum and musical events. Refreshments are provided along with assistance with transportation, if needed.
